How this website works (added 11 October 2026)
This section describes the tools this website uses today. It adds to the policy below.
- Analytics, only with your permission. If you click "Accept analytics", we load Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Ltd., to measure which parts of the campaign people watch, share and use, for example how far people get into the film. Google Analytics sets cookies whose names start with
_ga. If you reject, these tools are not loaded. You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie preferences" at the bottom of every page. - The film is hosted on our own website (Amazon Web Services). Watching it does not involve a third-party video platform.
- Forms. The contact form and Forest Watch sign-ups are processed by HubSpot, Inc. We store what you enter. For Forest Watch we also store the ending or profile you chose on this site and the campaign tags in the link you arrived through. We use this to reply to you and, if you opted in, to send you Forest Watch. Every email contains an unsubscribe link.
- WhatsApp. If you message us on WhatsApp, your phone number and messages are processed by WhatsApp (Meta) and arrive in our HubSpot inbox.
- In your browser. We keep your cookie choice and a few preferences (for example whether you finished the film, and the ending you chose) in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device.
- Fonts are served from our own website, so loading a page does not send your IP address to a font provider.
- Your rights. You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it, by emailing info@deforestation.com. You can also complain to your data protection authority; in the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
